Welcome to Sea N' B › About Us

Take an exotic island drink – spice it with a little ginger and don’t be shy with the rum and you’ve likely got a close analogy to the powerful and eclectic performances of the Sea ‘N B band. What began as a duo a few years back (okay, quite a few years back) has grown into a four-piece melding of talented and diverse artists who simply love to perform and write music.

On Bass guitar is Roger “Bugs” Wilson who was born in England and raised in Jamaica. Bugs has played with Caribbean stalwarts such as the Mighty Diamonds, Junior Marvin (who used to play for Bob Marley and the Wailers), and it was Bugs’ bass performance on the Lord Lovindeer classic “Wild Gilbert”. More recently Bugs travels with Sea ‘N B to their bi-annual Bahamas concert (March & July), backing the legendary Barefoot Man and showcasing Sea ‘N B in a week-end long of concerts in the Abacos at Nippers on Guana Cay.

On drums is the power pumping, hard hitting drummer who confesses his addiction/love for performing music and leather pants. Mark McTaggart comes from a long family line of talented performers and has become Cayman’s leading and most versatile drummer. A founding member of the local band Ratskyn, he has opened for iconic rock bands such as REO Speedwagon and Bon Jovi. He also performs with the band Suckerbox that has produced quite a few international releases in the punk rock genre.

The ‘Sea’ stands for Chuck Quappé, a multi-instrumentalist originally from New York but a Cayman resident since 1983. The ‘B’ stands for Barrie Quappé, who grew up in East End listening to her father’s LP’s and learning calypso classics from the taxi drivers all the while helping her parents at Tortuga Club, their small family resort. The music they create together is always tropical and fun but with an edge of pop and rock and roll. After touring the east coast of the USA and with the US military in Europe, the duo came back to visit Barrie’s family in Cayman, and never left! Chuck and Barrie have written hundreds of songs, commercials and scored musicals for the theatre and are members of the internationally recognized performing rights societies, BMI and ASCAP. In 1998 they won a US National award for a radio advertisement they wrote and produced for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America with US air play. Their instrumental work has played on NBC’s “Passions” soap opera, and in the 90’s their island instrumental CD “Caribbean Vacation” sold 40,000 units in Walmart stores in the US over a 2 year period and is still available on

The experience and variety of music styles of these four performers always leaves you wanting more. They perform regularly in Cayman at the Havana Club on West Bay Road – they all love cigars and travel regularly to perform overseas on their own and with the Barefoot Man.
